Career Counselling for Women: A Panacea for Productivity and Poverty Reduction

Abstract

Career counselling for women is a panacea for productivity and poverty
reduction in most contemporary societies such as Nigeria. Career counselling
is important to help give information about the world of work to Nigerian
women. Improving the lives of women in rural and urban cities is a key to
fighting poverty which will lead to maximum productivity all around. Giving
women the same opportunities as men will increase the productivity level in all
career sector in the country. Many women cannot help themselves considering
the wrong choice of career they made. This is because they were not opportune
to receive the needed counselling to help them be self-reliant and productive. This paper therefore is focused on examining career counselling for women as
a panacea for productivity and poverty reduction.
